WHAT WE DO >> SCHOOL PROGRAMS

Rudy partners with school districts across Dane County including the Madison Metropolitan School District, Middleton–Cross Plains Area School District, Stoughton Area School District, and DeForest Area School District, to support the development of equitable, inclusive, and restorative school communities.

His consulting work focuses on strengthening systems and practices that foster belonging, accountability, and healing. This includes designing and implementing progressive, restorative discipline policies; developing tiered systems of support grounded in restorative principles; and creating meaningful alternatives to exclusionary discipline in order to dismantle the school-to-prison pipeline.

Rudy also works closely with educators and administrators to shift adult mindsets by aligning beliefs, values, and daily practices with equity-centered approaches. He supports the development of curricular resources that elevate multicultural and multiracial identities and histories, helping schools create learning environments where all students feel seen and valued.

A core component of his work involves the intentional use of restorative circles in educational settings. Circles are used to support academic learning and skill development, strengthen collaborative ways of working, promote cross-cultural understanding, respond to harm and wrongdoing, and restore individual and collective well-being following critical incidents, including racism and discrimination.

In addition, Rudy facilitates the use of circles for a wide range of school-based processes, such as staff meetings, re-entry from suspension, re-engagement after extended absences, IEP meetings, and parent–teacher conferences. His work also prioritizes educator wellness through the promotion of self-care and secondary trauma strategies, mindfulness practices, and the development of supportive groups that sustain both personal and professional growth.
